Budge Budge Institute of Technology is a leading engineering and Management college in Kolkata. Established in 2009, BBIT works for the full development and growth of its students through knowledge, innovation and research. BBIT is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalan Azad Technical University (MAKAUT) and WBSCTVESD, and is a UGC and AICTE approved institute. It has received the B+ accreditation from NAAC and is also accredited with the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
A total of 18 engineering and management courses are available at BBIT. The institute offers admission to its 3 degree courses namely BTech, MTech and MBA courses, and also has availability of Polytechnic or Diploma in Engineering programmes. At BBIT, students get the advantage of studying in an open and caring environment to benefit their academic pursuits. The institute ensures the high teacher-student ration and works not only on the academic growth of the students but also on providing them with practical exposure to the industrial climate and practical applications of their course. The institute also has a focus on encouraging research and innovation and provides support to students for publication of research papers in relevant journals. BBIT also has the availability of good infrastructure for its students. The classrooms at BBIT are modernized and equipped with audio-visual aids such as projectors, screens, cordless microphones etc. The entire 20-acre campus of BBIT has WiFi availability to help its students stay connected. BBIT has a good LIbrary with NPTEL subscription as well as other related services and there are a number of sophisticated laboratories as well as a 10,000 sq. ft. Central Workshop for students.
Studies and academic pursuits at BBIT are well-balanced with leisure and recreational activities with the availability of socialising spaces such as Cafeterias and the institute also organizes extracurricular activities such as sporting events, debates, quiz etc. at regular intervals.
