Global Institute of Management & Technology (GIMT) was established in the year 2009 by the trust, ‘National Centre for Development of Technical Education’ for aspiring students to equip them with the necessary qualities of head and heart to face the global challenges of their tomorrow successfully. Its annexure building was inaugurated by the Hon’ble minister of technical education and training, Sri Ujjwal Biswas in the year 2013. GIMT believes in the holistic movement of society at large and is researching its efforts in multi-disciplinary activities. It shoulders the responsibility of shaping the Intellect, Character and Physique of every student because it believes that these students would be the architects to develop humanized and harmonious society and the nation as a whole.

GIMT stands magnificently on the sprawling ground of 12 acres. The focus of the architecture was to build the right ambience needed for the overall growth of both, the students and the faculty. The classrooms have been designed aesthetically and are appropriately furnished. The shape and the furnishings of the classrooms offer optimum comfort to students listening to long hours of active lectures. The labs have been designed for maximum comfort with excellent lighting and ventilation. Thus the Institute has created and is creating an impressive infrastructure and is constantly developing and nurturing industry linkages and associated with professional bodies. It has 5 disciplines of study in B.Tech. Course and 2 disciplines of study in Diploma Engineering with nearly 60 laboratories. A faculty of international repute, a brilliant student community, excellent technical & supporting staff and an effective administration have all contributed to the pre-eminent status of GIMT. It is situated beside NH-34 and in the city of Krishnagar, the district headquarter of Nadia.
GIMT has a clear vision of creating highly trained professional manpower in various disciplines of engineering keeping in view the rapid industrial development in India and the looming context of globalization and competitive markets. The Institute has a very active Training and Placement cell which is always engaged in providing students quality industrial training and 100% placement assistance. The Training and Placement cell was inaugurated by Prof. BratyaBasu, the Former Honorable Minister-in-Charge, Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal. The Placement cell is proud to have made 83% placement last year, even in this tough, highly competitive market of Recession.
