WBJEE 2021 resulthas been announced on August 6. WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam) is one of the crucial engineering entrance exams as B.Tech admissions in engineering colleges across West Bengal are conducted on the basis of this entrance exam. WBJEE rank is mandatory to participate in the WBJEE counselling process for B.Tech courses. West Bengal B.Tech admissions are purely based on the performance/ rank of the candidates in WBJEE/ JEE Main. 

In order to determine the WBJEE rank, the admission authority considers several factors. However, the WBJEE score is the major factor that plays a vital role in determining the WBJEE rank. WBJEE 2021 Ranking Methodology

Based on the subjects/ papers attempted in WBJEE 2021, the admission authority shall prepare a Merit Rank list by considering the score obtained by the candidates in the WBJEE examination. The General Merit Rank will be allocated to the candidates as per the following method –

    

  • The General Merit Rank (GMR) will be allocated to candidates based on his/ her score in WBJEE Paper – I & II together.
  • The admission authority shall do the ranking in the descending order of the overall score secured by candidates in all subjects.
  • Apart from the GMR merit position, a separate merit position will be allocated for a specific category of students. For example, SC Rank, OBC-B Rank, TFW Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A-Rank etc.
  • WBJEE counselling and seat allotment will be done on the basis of GMR only.
  • In case of a tie, tie-breaking rules will be applied. Please refer to West Bengal B.Tech admissions for details (click on the link beside).
  • Candidates who do not get a rank in WBJEE are not eligible for the WBJEE counselling process. These candidates will not be included in the GMR.
